Sitting Rooms & Conservatory
The large drawing room at The Dower House is decorated with antique furniture and comfortable modern sofas and chairs. The patio doors lead out onto a courtyard garden with a fountain and well established shrubs and flowers.
The drawing room is used for weekly keep fit classes and monthly Holy Communion. Flower arranging, painting demonstrations or interesting talks on subjects such as wildlife, antiques and horticulture are a monthly event. Quizzes and crossword sessions are also often arranged.
Residents and local talented pianists regularly play on the grand piano, and we have opera, songs from the musicals, and light music on occasions.
Our conservatory is ideally placed to catch the sunshine and overlooks the extensive landscaped gardens. The conservatory is an ideal place to relax and read the newspapers or meet up with other residents. In the summer residents often take tea in here or on the adjacent patio area overlooking the grounds and the pond.
There are several other smaller sitting areas dotted around The Dower House, and we also have a well stocked library.
